Common Admits To Liking Drake's Music, Says Beef Is Over
Wednesday, 25 January 2012 14:39

Is the beef between Common and Drake already over? Yes, if Common has any say.

The two hip-hop stars have taken shots at each other in the past couple weeks. After Drizzy sent a shot (via a few bars) to the Chi-Town rapper on Rick Ross' "Stay Schemin'" mixtape track, Common took things to the next level by dedicating a full verse to the YMCMB rapper via a remix of the same track calling him "Canada Dry."

This sparked controversy, and got the Internet talking. But, Common seems to be ready to move on.

In a new interview with Rolling Stone, the rapper had some kind words for Drake, saying that despite the beef he actually likes -- and thinks he makes good -- music.

"I think he makes good music," Common said of the Canadian MC. "He's definitely said some real clever things and made some cool songs. I like his music."

As far as the disses, Common said he felt he needed to respond after Drake said something about him. "I don't think I had anything to prove. I just felt like somebody stepped and challenged me, so I had to step into the ring. He said some things that I thought were directed at me, so I had to address it back."

However, Common is done with the beef ... unless Drake retaliates.

"I feel like I said what I had to say, and I'm just going to let it be at that point," Common stated. "Now, if something else happens, then I'll just have to act accordingly. But right now, I feel like, man, I said what I needed to say about this situation on record.

"It's nothing like, ‘Oh man, it's so personal.' It's just the art of rhyming, man. The art of rhyming," he continued.

Chris Brown's Rep Says He & Rihanna Aren't Back Together & Are 'Just Friends'
Wednesday, 25 January 2012 14:36

Over the past month or so, rumors have been running rampant over talk that Chris Brown and Rihanna are getting back to, or already together.

However, Breezy's rep tells TMZ that's just not true.

Reports surfaced late last night and early this morning about the pair partying at the same Hollywood nightclub on Sunday (January 22), fueling speculation that they were -- once again -- a couple.

Chris' rep, however, says he was actually with his current girlfriend model Karrueche Tran.

The rep says Rihanna and Brown aren't together, and he was not with Rihanna on Sunday night. He maintains that they are just friends.

Chelsea Handler Explains Break-Up With 50 Cent
Wednesday, 25 January 2012 14:30

Rumors of 50 Cent's brief relationship with comedienne Chelsea Handler has been a topic for the last couple years. Although she's previously admitted that they were true, she got a little more candid about it recently.

During an interview on Howard Stern's Sirius/XM show on Monday (January 23), Handler talked about dating 50 briefly in 2010, describing what it was like and why it ended.

"He's actually a lot different than you would think. He's really sweet," she told Stern. "I thought it was kind of amusing that I would even be with 50 Cent. I thought it was funny."

The "Chelsea Lately" host goes on to say that everyone around her approved of 50. In fact, she says they loved him ... including Hollywood pals like Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon.

"My friends all loved him, my friends fell in love with him," Handler said. "They loved that I was dating him. They were like, 'Chelsea, come on.' They were both laughing really hard at it... I mean, everyone was."

Handler went on to say things turned sour when 50 Cent warned her about his ex-girlfriend being on the show ... Ciara.

"We dated for a couple months and then we had a falling out," she explained. "One of his ex-girlfriends was coming onto my show.

"It was just so juvenile, I was at work," said Handler. "Whatever I called him was probably the worst thing you could say to a black person, short of calling him the N-word. I said you're like a street person, basically, something along the lines of being a gangster. It was really, really offensive and I hung up and I've never spoken to him again."

90s R&B Group SWV Announces Comeback Album, 'I Missed Us'
Wednesday, 25 January 2012 14:18

Successful 1990s R&B group, SWV (Sisters With Voices), is planning a comeback, announcing a new album set to drop in April.

Titled I Missed Us, the new project serves as the group's first new studio album since 1997's Christmas-themed release, A Special Christmas.

The first single from the forthcoming LP is the Lamb-produced "Co-Sign," which has already been added to radio and serves as the first new musical release in over a decade.

SWV has been working with producers Bryan M. Cox and Jazze Pha on tracks for the album.

The group -- comprised of Coko, Lelee and Taj -- released its debut album It's About Time in 1992. The album went multi-platinum and spawned a string of top ten R&B hits -- including "I'm So Into You," "Right Here," "Downtown," "Weak" and "You're Always On My Mind."

Their sophomore effort, New Beginning, went double platinum, while the trio's third album, Release Some Tension went platinum.

SWV members Taj, Lelee and Coko all agree that "it's a great feeling to be back recording together again! Something special always happens when we come together."

"As a long time fan, I am extremely excited to be a part of SWV's highly anticipated return to music," added Marcus Siskind, President of Mass Appeal Entertainment. "They are one of the quintessential female groups of our time, and through our partnership, I'm looking forward to continuing their legacy together."

I Missed Us will drop April 10th.
